Science is a great way to get young people involved in education and experimenting. Encouraging children and young adults to create new ways of doing things while maintaining safety is a great way to bring up imaginative and inspired minds. Here are a few at-home projects to help spark interests of young children and students.
Dry Ice
Dry ice is infinitely fun with its harmless, but smoky effect. This is usually seen around Halloween time. However, there are many other fun and simple experiments that can be educational and downright enjoyable all at the same time!
Liquid Nitrogen
There is endless fun with liquid nitrogen when you can instantly freeze or shrink objects. You can flash-freeze ice cream to turn small ice cream pellets into frozen mini treats. You can also freeze chalk in liquid nitrogen. Afterwards, you can place it over a hardwood or linoleum floor and the chalk will hover. Check out some other fun things to do with liquid nitrogen!
Once again, always be cautious when handling chemicals. Not only is this an opportunity to inspire talk about science, but also a chance to address safety and make it fun! Let us know what experiments you have enjoyed with your family or friends! Tell us on Facebook and Twitter!
